About Sheila

Three decades studying what makes systems work. Nine years applying it to the female body at midlife.

Sheila Jackson is a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner, National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach, Professional Food Addiction Coach, board-certified holistic health practitioner, writer, and longtime healthcare and business leader whose work sits at the intersection of hormone signaling, metabolic health, and vital aging.

Sheila Jackson
The progression

From running complex systems to reading the female body’s.

Sheila’s path runs from healthcare administration and national practice-management consulting, through fitness and entrepreneurship, into functional diagnostics, behavior change, hormone physiology, women’s metabolic health, and teaching other practitioners.

She was trained in the founding Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach cohort and spent two years as adjunct faculty at the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy, supporting the development of other functional-medicine coaches.

Then her own physiology stopped cooperating. Highly capable and running her own practice, she found her sleep, mood, motivation, and resilience giving way. She was the fourth physician’s patient before anyone confirmed what she had been navigating for years: menopause. Lived experience informs her judgment. It does not replace professional preparation.

Since then she has worked with hundreds of women, largely through word of mouth, and matured that work into Signal Restoration™ and the forthcoming book Vital Signs.

Medical respect

Not a physician. Something equally necessary.

“Sheila is not a physician or a nurse—and she does not claim to be. What she represents is something equally important and increasingly necessary: an extensively credentialed practitioner who has dedicated herself to understanding the connections between nutrition, gut health, hormones, and the nervous system.”

“Hormone Literacy is not an alternative to medical care. It is the missing context that makes medical care more effective.”
